On The Rocks is truly a spectacular house with fantastic sea views, 100 meters from the South West Coastal path, and only 4 hours from London. On The Rocks was 4 years in the making with no expense spared, carved from the rock face only meters from the Cornish Seafront.

Sitting in the hot tub in a storm champagne glass in hand, one delights as the sea mist from the waves gently sprays one’s face.

Sublime views of the miles and miles of rugged Cornish Coast fill the soul with wonder. Whether by day or night one is dumb struck by the shear magic of nature.

On The Rocks is spectacular both inside and out. Designed to be totally self-contained in both summer and winter with every facility possible.

If you are lucky … you may see the a dolphin frolicking in the waves !!!!

Filled to the brink with pure luxury, a fully equiped kitchen, full entertainment facilities, Video Library – Sky – Sky Sports, fabulous art, Spa facilities including masseurs – beauty therapist – and a steam shower, Private Chef.

Completed only 12 years ago using old beach boulders and local stone, On The Rocks appears 100’s of years old yet is a modern contemporary Beach House with underfloor heating, and warm as toast in the winter. Even though over 2,500 guests have stayed at On The Rocks in the last 12 years, we pride ourselves in making it look like it was built yesterday, with everything being the finest of the fine!!

On The Rocks is slightly off the beaten track, yet close enough to restaurants pubs and supermarkets. The Eden project is 45 minutes away, with its wonderful local gardens, plus there is an extraordinary 18-hole golf course 100 meter walk away, plus some excellent local restaurants and pubs within a 5 minute drive.

Changeover day

Changeover day is Friday. Arrival after 4pm. (because of Covid cleaning) Guests asked to leave by 9am. Possibly more flexible on leaving times for short breaks.

Accommodation

We have 2 houses one sleeps 2-7, the other 2-10. See Other Houses for larger house.

Cooks large wooden work top. Bosch fan assisted oven, microwave/grill/2nd oven, Aeg ceramic electric hob. Large Stainless Steel 2 door fridge/freezer capacity ?? litres freezer ?? litres. Bosch dishwasher, Nespresso Pod Coffee Machine, large butler sink with drainer, De Longhi 4 slice toaster, kettle, Private Chef available.

25 x 23 ft living area with open vaulted ceiling. Fabulous sea views. Limed oak floors. Hole In The Wall fireplace, large comfy sofas, hand made oak dining table from Bali seating 7. TV Sky+ HD/sports/. Blue-Ray DVD, High Speed Fibre Optic WiFi internet, phone, Ipad Spotify Music System (every record recorded at your fingertips).

TV / Den Games Room

Games room/TV den. Large leather sofa for 8, table football, Pool, Air Hockey, 42″TV with Sky + HD/sports, Blue-Ray DVD, iPod music system, Wii games console, Sony PS4 + games. Darts, 40 Meg Fibre Optic WiFi internet, Utility room/loo. Leads to underground car park 1 spaces, more in nearby car park.

Cleaning/towels/linen/maid service

All linen included except beach towels. All linen 400 thread count, allergy free. Finest Egyptian cotton towels. Property cleaned, linen changed every Friday. (For extra cost additional cleaning), Private Chef available, Internet shopping delivered & packed away before arrival.(small charge)

Children welcome, suitable for elderly and pets accepted.

Accessibility

Property is not ideal for wheelchairs, although all 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms are on the ground level. All rooms are large as is access to bathrooms so could accommodate wheel chairs. 1 bathroom has low level large walk in shower, one has a seat.

Outside

Terrace off living area with wonderful sea views (you feel as if your are almost in the sea). Sunken cedar hot tub, suits 2 adults and 2 children. Dining table with seating for 7, sun deck loungers, electric barbeque. Small secure shared grass garden. (no dogs allowed in the garden).

Coast/Beach

50 meters to right of house nearest sandy beach. Lots of rocks at low tide, so wonderful for children to explore. Safe fresh water pool (small harbour). Another beach 100 meters to left of house. Miles and Miles of Surfing beach 5 minutes by car. Lots of lovely coves to explore at low tide.

Golf

Fantastic 18-hole (SSS 69) golf course within 5 minutes walk of the house, runs partially along the coast.

Special interest holidays

The start of the South West coastal path is a mere 100 metres from the house, fabulous walks along the coast for 630 miles. Can arrange transport of suitcases to B&Bs along the way if you are feeling very energetic.

How to get there

Nearest airport Plymouth 20 minutes away. Nearest train station St Germans 10 minutes away. Would suggest having a car, but not essential as the house is so self contained. Restaurants and pubs within reasonable distance.

Distances

Eden Project, Cotehele House, Antony House, National Marine Aquarium, Lost Gardens of Heligan are all within easy reach by car.

Nearest pub and restaurant 15 minutes walk way. Nearest village 5 minutes by car where small local shop pub and restaurant. Absolutely fantastic restaurant 10 minutes along coast by car (equivalent to Best of London). Sainsburys 15 minutes by car plus lovely wet fish monger. Sells locally caught fish, Lobsters etc (£20 for Lobster).

Further details

Technology. The house is full of workable technology. We have recently installed a 40 Meg BT high speed Fibre Optic Internet connection. So you can actually use Skype. We have also installed an Ipad3 with Spotify Music system connected to the home cinema system, which gives you access to virtually every album produced. Wonderful for listening to all those nostalgic songs from your youth, or latest pop charts. We have a Sky + HD connection along with Sky Sports. Sony PS4 player with Blue Ray player, Wii games system etc etc.

On The Rocks is thebest place we have ever stayed, such a wonderful location and it's great that you allow dogs to stay too.

We found the underfloor heating a bit difficult to control particularly in the 2nd bedroom, but eventually managed.

The hot tub was just amazing. Overall like I said the best place we've stayed.
